Mar 05, 2012 After almost 22 years of making Microsoft Office for various platforms, Microsoft has bafflingly never provided an Insert Horizontal Line option. The ‘three dashes and enter’ trick does not work on Office for Mac 2011. However, there is indeed a way to insert a horizontal line to your Word.
You can use the Insert commands in the Layout tab to manage the rows and columns in tables. Add a row or column. You can add a row above or below the cursor position. Click where you want in your table to add a row or column and then click the Layout tab (this is the tab next to the Table Design tab on the ribbon). In addition to making the document more reader-friendly, a table of contents also makes it easier for the author to go back and add or remove content if necessary. By default, Word generates a table of contents using the first three built-in heading styles (Heading 1, Heading 2, and Heading 3). This object is not a collection; there is no object that represents a single leader line.

Although the following code applies to Microsoft Word, you can readily modify it to apply to PowerPoint.
Use the LeaderLines property to return the LeaderLines object. The following example adds data labels and blue leader lines to series one on the first chart in the active document. If no leader lines are visible, this example code will fail. In this situation, you can manually drag one of the data labels away from the pie chart to make a leader line show up.

In Excel, there is a dialog called Format Leader Lines, you can format leader lines in it. Mac os 10.8 3.
1. Click at the leader lines, and right click to select Format Leader Lines in the context menu.
2. Then in the popping Format Leader Lines dialog/pane, you can change the color in Line Color section, and check Solid line and select the color you need from the Color list. See screenshot:
You also can change the leader lines formatting by changing the line style or glow and soft edge.
